My role as QA Manager was much more than having the responsibility for the overall quality of the BetterNOI platform of products. With a small development team and an even smaller QA team, I found that I wore many hats. The role could also be described as a lead position as I was the sole member of the QA team and led/managed all QA initiatives. - Managed a number of development projects that added new salable product features to consumers- One project increased revenue from $55K to $1.5M+ after the release in December 2017- Handled product support requests with an average resolution time of hours rather than days- Single-handedly devised and implemented a plan for on-boarding client data for new web & mobile product line requiring the importing and management of data in a MySQL database using MySQL Workbench- Ensured that bug fixes and new features were properly tested prior to release, which resulted in more stable products and fewer support calls- Tested on all major web browsers for Windows and Mac; Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Safari- Performed as JIRA administrator where I set up projects and boards, added and configured Add-ons, built reports, and managed users/groups all of which helped keep the development process moving along smoothly- Built interactive mockups for new features using Axure Pro, which allowed for more efficient development as requirements were clearer- Built simple to moderately complex SQL queries for data validation, reports, and day-to-day troubleshooting leading to more robust tests and quicker problem resolutions

This included:- With a limited QA staff, routinely performed QA tasks to help ensure product quality and keep releases on schedule- Performing user acceptance testing (UAT)- Handling product support issues- Creating feature designs and interactive mockups- Gathering requirements- Prioritizing the backlog within JIRA- Preparing release announcements- Conducting product trainingNotable: In mid-2015, created a Visual Studio web test to help isolate a recurring issue that was causing loss of functionality for a number of clients. This web test allowed us to repeatedly hit an API by passing in hundreds of IDs one at a time via a linked CSV file. Finding (and then fixing) the IDs that were throwing the errors was easy once the script was finished.

Ensured the quality of the interactive web design application called BaseStation®, which supported multiple browsers on multiple platforms. Primary customers were radio stations around the US and Canada, but also included publishers, producers, and authors. - Collaborated with team to increase quality of content management system- Uncovered bugs, finding errors in development stage to move issues upstream - Improved efficiency as fewer fixes needed after product releases- Executed manual testing across browsers on platforms- Troubleshot customer and in-house generated support cases. Using tools like Firebug, Fiddler and the Web Developer toolbar for Internet Explorer - Generated automated web tests in Visual Studio’s Team Foundation Server- Ran basic SQL queries to validate test results and verify database functionality- Worked directly with developers, designers, and product team members whenever necessary to better understand product enhancements and bug fixes with the goal of creating more accurate and reliable tests

Tested wireless client-server and web applications for police, firefighters, and emergency medical services. Helped sustain zero customer-found defects reported since the debut of TxMessenger, a public safety mobile messaging software, in January 2000.
