Dan Jones is the Chief Operating Officer of the Major League Soccer Players Association, the voice and collective bargaining representative for all former, current and future Major League Soccer Players. Formed in 2003, the Players Association ensures protection of the rights of all MLS Players, while also promoting their best interests and amplifying their voices. The PA is a democratic organization run by and for players, and ultimate control over the PA rests with the players.Prior to joining the PA, Dan was Vice President of Strategy & Sales Operations at FedBid, Inc., a fully-managed online marketplace optimizing the way governments, businesses, and educational institutions buy the goods and services they need. As part of FedBid’s management team, Dan led the company’s business intelligence products, developed strategic initiatives to ensure long-term profitability and growth, and helped lead FedBid’s successful acquisition by Compusearch Software Systems, Inc. in the fall of 2017. Prior to FedBid, Dan served four years as White House Liaison to the U.S. Small Business Administration. As a presidentially appointed senior agency official, Dan advised the SBA Administrator on personnel decisions, priority agency initiatives, and strategic collaboration with the White House, federal agencies, state governments, and stakeholder groups. In addition to his work in the public and private sectors, Dan has worked on multiple state and national electoral and issue-based campaigns, including two years with President Obama as his Director of National Field Operations and Deputy Chief Operating Officer for the historic 2008 campaign. Dan is a proud City Year alum, having served as a Program Leader at John W. Cook Elementary School in Chicago’s Auburn Gresham community. A native of Boston, Dan is a graduate of Loyola University Chicago and Harvard Business School.
