Through my experience working with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and my time studying the field of Environmental Science at Marquette University, I have come to have a strong interest in Conservation and Restoration Science. While working as a volunteer intern with the Illinois DNR, I have learned many important practical skills to be used within environmental conservation, and the projects that I have completed continue to drive my interest in the field, as I strive to pursue a professional career in the field. Although previous job experiences may not seem at all related to the career field I now actively pursue, many of the skills that I have gained there, such as strong communication and management, will help me stand out from other candidates that may have limited experiences in varying occupational fields.
