I have sixteen years experience writing in the contemporary rock music industry, primarily for Kerrang!, Alternative Press and Outburn. During this time over seventeen hundred interviews/features/profiles and more than thirteen hundred reviews I have penned have been published in the United Kingdom and the United States, as well as a wealth of online content. At its peak in circulation, my work in Kerrang! magazine was read by more than 70,000 people in the UK every week.I also have ten years experience writing band biographies to spec for various labels, usually within a 48-hour turnaround. Furthermore, I have contributed to other publications, such as Front and Total Film, as well as the body art-oriented Skin Deep and Prick Magazine [yes, I mentioned the body art thing to head off assumptions that these are 'adult' titles, which don't tend to require much in the way of copy...] I have also contributed to Vue cinemas website and their free magazine, run by John Brown Media, providing various previews, lists, guides, and other typically irreverent material.Specialties: I am a multifaceted writer proficient in various writing styles. I am able to fit my style to your requirements, although I am perhaps most comfortable when I am able to inject my personality and sense of humour into my work. Anyone who has commissioned me will attest that I turnaround assignments with speed and exactness, and in the last one and a half decades I have never once missed a deadline or needed to be chased up for overdue work. It is also rare that work I submit requires major revisions, if any.I have an encyclopedic knowledge of contemporary rock and metal music and American film, plus a basic knowledge of most aspects of contemporary Western culture. I basically know a lot of stuff about stuff and I am good at applying it. As such, I have no problem with being labelled a geek, as long as there's also mention of my really quite lovely beard.
