Many of these initiatives are registered on the Transition Network website.These communities have started up projects in areas of food, transport, energy, education, housing, waste, arts etc. as small-scale local responses to the global challenges of climate change, economic hardship and shrinking supplies of cheap energy. Together, these small-scale responses make up something much bigger, and help show the way forward for governments, business and the rest of us.Really, it's the opposite of us sitting in our armchairs complaining about what's wrong, and instead, it's about getting up and doing something constructive about it alongside our neighbours and fellow townsfolk. And people tell us that as a result of being involved in their local "transition initiative", they're happier, their community feels more robust and they have made a lot of new friends.

* As a stagehand I loaded/unloaded semis; “pushed” road cases; set up electrics, lights, truss, sound, staging, and backline. * I ran cable, set up and tore down front of house and video systems (both projection and LED). * I worked on both Load-Ins and Load-Outs, as well as Deckhand calls. * I trained and worked as a rigger (both ground and up). * I travelled to several venues throughout the Midwest. * I worked as a spot operator (both house and truss).

* While working at Maraud, Inc. was the lead draftsman. As such, created title blocks, drafted 2D drawings 80% of the time, and 3D modeling 20% of the time. * Helped bring local Rapid-Production to the table; helped to model and Rapid-Prototype two piece-parts, one of which made it to production. * Thoroughly researched suppliers in China, and made a Microsoft Access database to track Maraud, Inc.’s interactions with these potential suppliers. * Was responsible for putting Specifications through the process of making an Engineering Change Request (ECR), and then pending approval of the ECR; releasing a Revised Specification per an Engineering Change Notification (ECN). * Helped to create the inter-office process for changing Specifications, as well as how the Drafting Department would interact with the Document Control Department. * Reported to the Vice President of Engineering, and executed tasks requested. * Created Inspection Procedures for PCB assemblies. * Was responsible for creation of Specifications of the more complicated Printed Circuit Board Assemblies. * Performed occasional Manufacturing duties such as: assembly, Quality Control duties (testing and inspection), rework, and shipping.

As a grocery department clerk I initially bagged groceries, proactively pursued customer service, and performed regular housekeeping.I advanced to take on shelf stocking including inventory and aisle management, where I did the orders for the week.
