As part of the Alexa AI Knowledge domain, we measure our success by how often Alexa users hear the correct answer to their question. As VP of Research & Development and then Senior Vice President of Technology at Virtual Solutions, I was responsible for directing all product development and technology research. The development team that I led built vcapture, an enterprise software system that supports tens of thousands of people working from home to do data entry on the internet. vcapture consists of both customer facing client-server software, as well as a workforce website processing millions of transactions a day. vcapture was the primary revenue generator for Virtual Solutions, Inc for over 10 years.We built a desktop/express version of vcapture targeting small businesses which integrated document scanning, image processing, a remote crowd workforce, and in-place data entry solution for Windows platforms.We also worked on projects related to crowd and virtual workforces for Language Translation and Audio Transcription, advanced image processing solutions, mobile applications, machine learning and neural networks, and Optical Character Recognition.

During the Summers of 2001 and 2002, as well as remotely during the 2001-2002 school year, I was responsible for building various software projects as directed by the company leadership.I worked on projects including OCR result text analysis, image processing and analysis, SOAP web services, SQL database design, audio analysis and speech transcription and website development and design.
