As a subject matter expert, the Process Engineer III leads highly complex equipment and process designs as well as manufacturing technology R&D with minimal oversight. Key responsibilities include: Developing and implementing a diverse range of automated assembly, processing, and inspection equipment, and other electro/mechanical equipment for high volume manufacturing. This position is accountable for making recommendations on new technologies, identifying areas of opportunity for improvements in quality, efficiency, and capability. Design and implementation of Tooling/Molds and CNC fixturing. (50%)- Develop molds and fixture concepts from solid models, sample parts, or blueprints.- Provide cost and time estimates for each project, as well as BOM documents.- In some tooling projects, produce molds and fixtures, in other projects, oversee production of tooling and fixtures.- CAD Design, Drafting & GD&T.- CAM/CNC programming.- Mold flow simulation - Magmasoft.Work with customers, both internal and external, to develop projects and new products. (25%)- Develop file archive system for all solid model files and drawings.- Maintain a Continuous Improvement file for management review.- Manufacturing process improvement using lean manufacturing principles.

Fixture design and construction for CNC milling of aluminum cast products. (50%)- Develop fixture concepts from solid models, sample parts, or blueprints.- Provide cost and time estimates to realize the concept.- Produce BOM documents for purchasing raw material and components.- Use a combination of manual and CNC equipment to produce fixtures.- Produce G-Code programming using CAD-CAM and hand programming methods for production use of the developed fixtures.- Set up and operate the CNC machine to produce first article parts. Repair or replace existing machining fixtures and processes.(25%)- Review historic scrap data and first article reports to target specific products.- Work from written or verbal instructions to focus on necessary improvements.- Using manual or CNC machinery, fabricate replacement parts as needed.Introduce Lean Manufacturing concepts.(25%)- Using a team based strategy, develop a 5S program for tool and fixture storage.- Develop and document project charter(s) to achieve 5S goals.- Implement a tool life management program for high volume production processes and specialty tools.- Maintain a Continuous Improvement folder or file for management review.
