I represent clients dealing with real estate and business estate matters, including real estate disputes, landlord-tenant law (both residential and commercial), community association law, civil litigation, and appeals. The mission of the LCBA Young Lawyers Division is to do the following:• Actively engage younger and newer members of the LCBA to stimulate participation in the LCBA through community service and contributing to the legal profession;• Advance the goals of LCBA by organizing LCYLD community service events and pursuing opportunities for LCYLD to contribute to the legal profession;• Promote the success of younger and newer members of the LCBA by providing opportunities for professional development as well as network development; and• Represent younger and newer members of the LCBA.

I bring my experience and passion to advising businesses on formation and planning issues and to individuals contemplating real estate transactions, as well as to representing clients in myriad civil disputes.

Law Clerk for the Honorable Stephen E. Howard. I wrote draft orders for most civil motions that come before the court. These order have involved the Colorado Governmental Immunities Act, the state Administrative Procedures Act, administrative review under C.R.C.P. 106, statutory interpretation, breach of contract and contract interpretation, and land use issues. I have also written orders on a wide variety of juvenile and criminal issues including termination of parental rights, post-conviction relief, and evidentiary and constitutional issues. I also researched and drafted summaries of law or case facts and present my findings to the judge to review on short notice. Finally, I handled the court's adoption and juvenile relinquishment docket.

As a Law Clerk, I am assigned to a wide array of civil matters. For each case, I draft disclosures, complaints, motions, track down relevant information and evidence, and ensure documents are prepared before their deadlines. In addition, I have drafted motions to compel disclosure and a motion for attorney fees. Finally, I write mediation settlement memos and demand letters.

As a teaching assistant, I am a liaison between the writing professor and her students. My main duties are to be available to answer student questions about their written work. This involves helping students with substantial edits and revisions. In addition, I am responsible for teaching the Bluebook rules.

I worked for the Honorable Nancy J. Lichtenstein on the Colorado Court of Appeals. At the court, I read each party’s briefs and reviewed their legal conclusions and record citations. Next, I parsed out the relevant legal issues and identified the areas of dispute. I then poured through the record to identify relevant facts not presented by the parties. After understanding the dispute, I searched for case law to determine how the case should be resolved. After outlining and drafting a predisposition memorandum, I reported my conclusion to the judge and her law clerks.

At Buckley, I reviewed contracts to ensure they complied with federal regulations. I wrote several legal reviews of various agreements between entities within the Air Force and to ensure base facilities complied with federal law. I also assisted the judge advocates with their misdemeanor docket in federal court, which involved statutory research regarding criminal penalties and preparing documents for each pending case. Finally, I researched Colorado law to update pamphlets available to Airmen at the office.
