Sr. Software Engineer And Architect / Chief Technology Strategist, CoachMicrosoft Feb 2018 - Nov 2021Redmond, Washington, UsManaged programs and projects to onboard enterprise customers to Azure. Coached and cross-managed development and IT teams from many of Microsoft’s most prestigious customers (e.g., Harvard, MIT, Fidelity Investments, Nasdaq, Accenture, Microsoft, etc.). Recruited customer teams and champions and, through communication mastery, drove them to adoption and innovation through business, process, and technical coaching. Coached team and team member selection, ideation, requirements analysis, business analysis, data analysis, analytical skills, problem-solving, and thought leadership. Taught team leaders and members teamwork and how to coach other teams so the breadth of knowledge could spread rapidly through the organization. Coached IT/IS Managers, IT and security engineers, developers, DBAs (SQL & Oracle), development and other managers, and officers on innovating and improving processes to bring value to market faster while improving customer and employee satisfaction. Started with the discovery of challenges, then developed a team by identifying champions, key team leaders, members, and stakeholders. Used ideation, brainstorming, and Value Stream Analysis/Mapping methods to identify business challenges, the cost of not solving them, and the value of implementing a solution. I had each team vote on one 3-week assignment and a 9–12-month backlog project. Then, I coached them on leveraging tactics such as DevOps, DevSecOps, teamwork, and coaching principals to help them become a high-performing team. We would generally finish the 3-week assignment on the first day of development. We would then dive into the immense challenge and have it completed usually within 3-5 weeks. Improving employee morale was a key deliverable in all projects. We solved the final challenge in one or two 3-week sprints by utilizing innovation, strong values, team collaboration, and knowledge sharing. Implemented rewards programs and reported to all team stakeholders and Microsoft leadership. -

Devops, Security, Development Lead And TrainerMassachusetts Institute Of Technology Jul 2019 - Sep 2019Cambridge, Ma, UsPortfolio SampleCHALLENGE: Easily stand up and break down all infrastructure and services needed for a classroom with hundreds of students and machines. The current manual process (on AWS) takes 12 days to complete, with each student consuming 16+ hours of individual effort. During this 12-day cycle, no additional learning can take place. MIT desired to reduce the onboarding time from 12 days to 2 days. SOLUTION: Formed Dev & Engineering teams to create custom automated solutions to stand up and break down a cloud environment using Python, Bash, and PowerShell scripting that could execute with an import of an Excel spreadsheet with student names and MIT email addresses. Complete documentation and easy-to-run instructions were provided for both staff and students. The onboarding for the first class with over 400 students comprised two sessions on consecutive days to give students options for attending the quick automated onboarding process. The time of each session was 4 hours. Student time required 20 minutes or less each. RESULT: Reduced onboarding time for students from 12 days to 20 minutes per student using only two 4-hour days. This decreased onboarding time by 99.4%. This project significantly increased productivity and satisfaction for professors, teacher assistants, and students. It also increased compute capacity by 30% and decreased cost by 43%. The Azure Engineering Teams leveraged our excellent work and feedback to improve the Azure Platform for all Azure customers. New capabilities were introduced in two areas: 1. education product created. 2. High-Performance Compute instances created with Intel Chip “flags” capability.
