Staff Engineer - Test Engineering
CurrentLead test design engineer/mentor responsible for designing innovative test fixture hardware (using Altium) and software (using LabVIEW, TestStand, and C#) for the most complex Cardio Fitness Equipment (product base pcb boards, consoles, and full base product). Team subject matter expert on motor control board test design, complex fixture debug (HW and SW), working with high voltage AC power, base board configuration, and Safety Test Protocols (hipot, ground bond, and continuity testing). Researched new technologies and met with vendors to consult, update, and improve current ATE test platform and test processes/methodologies. Prioritized improving test yield, test time reduction, and improving test design for new and existing test processes.• Designed and supported innovative board level test (BLT) fixtures for motor control boards, subassembly testers, and final assembly testers for advanced treadmill designs.• Improved test fixture development and debug times by 30% by updating existing board level tester connector design layout, converting tester interface board technology design from through-hole to pcba, adding in debug test fixture pcb test points, and streamlined the team's schematic design format for increased efficiency• Improved Treadmill Final Assembly Test yield from 70% to over 95% by reviewing test code/test process inefficiencies and requesting test technician/operator feedback.• Provided 24/7 tester debug/support for MN factory and 4-5 Contract Manufacturers around the world.• Researched and introduced cutting-edge technologies, test equipment, and methodologies to our team.• Implemented New Common test interface pcb boards that all our testers can use.• Cross-trained my manager and mentored fellow engineers and test technicians by sharing my expertise in test fixture design and cross-functional team collaboration, contributing to the successful and timely delivery of project milestones.
