    I coach companies on creating and winning Small Business Innovation Research grants. (Learn more about SBIR at www.sbir.gov) I have been serving this role in the community for more than 15 years. During this time, I have managed, served as key personnel and created partnerships for multiple SBIR grants related to education (STEM, team simulations, eLearning, and innovative module/application development), environmental sensor strategies and medical devices. More importantly, I have successfully led the commercialization efforts for SBIR-created products. In the last few years, I have trained hundreds of entrepreneurs in SBIR strategy and proposal writing through Independent Platform. Independent Platform was awarded a USDA SBIR Phase I grant (7/2018) for a training tool to address the challenges building a system to look at culture in the context of Entrepreneurial education.One of my projects (2016-2019) at Independent Platform is KARMA (Kellogg Advanced Rural Manufacturing Alliance) which Navajo Technical University and Kellogg Foundation have joined to bring additive manufacturing opportunities to the Navajo Nation. My role for this project is to create a entrepreneurial platform roadmap that will guide development of electronic and human resources to support the Navajo STEM entrepreneur given the time, distance, and infrastructure constraints of the Navajo Nation. The other task I am leading for this project is development of business models that will support the local innovation community in a sustainable way.

    inXsol is a commercial eLearning and simulation company. Over the years, I have led proposal development and execution of six SBIR Phase I and three Phase II awards granted by NSF, NIH and USDA. In addition to the SBIR grant activities undertaken at inXsol, I helped manage commercial client efforts including the training development process for Honeywell Aerospace Training Solutions between 2001 and 2010 through an inXsol contract. This included almost $2.5 million of simulation and eLearning development for Honeywell’s technical products.
