The first bilateral event of its kind between Australia and a Latin American country, it featured dignitaries including the President of Chile and an Australian Minister. Notable industry participants included BHP Billiton, Origin Energy and CSIRO.• Led trade development projects to deepen the commercial relationship such as a large delegation of Australian water experts and academics to a regional event as well as over 55 Australian companies participating in the Austrade-organised national pavilion at a mining conference.• As an active board director, strengthened the Australia-Chile Chamber of Commerce. Oversaw a membership increase of over 50% over the three-year period.• Transformed the Santiago office through staffing changes, leadership and closer alignment with the embassy. Also developed new sectors of focus including water and energy as well as assisting CSIRO and University of Queensland establish their first overseas offices.
