Produced software to improve ER operations• Developed and used a simulation using commercial ProModel software to determine ER response to various scenarios, such as an impulse-like surge of several patients. Results led to recommendations for the ER workflow, staffing, and disaster response to reduce overall patient time in-system.• Established sufficient rapport with ER staff to facilitate observation and recording of their tasks.• Presented simulation results and recommendations to O-4 level staff.• Work acknowledged in a later presentation to Congress, doctoral thesis citations, and an O-6 letter of thanks.
