Profile bio

About Dan Telfer

I've recently written tabletop roleplaying adventures and hardcover handbooks full-time, in addition to writing and performing my own comedy. But I've been doing it for over 20 years!I was proud to spend 2 years as Senior Editor of the legendary MAD Magazine, where I helped put together the very-silly-yet-somehow-revered magazine, its online content, and host gaming shows on their new verified Twitch channel. I have been a contributing writer, staff writer, editor, ad integration specialist, and web series host for The AV Club and its sister publication The Onion. I am the only person to have served as an editor for both The Onion and MAD. I checked. Some people know me as Dungeon Master for Nerd Poker, a Dungeons and Dragons podcast that's been around since 2012. Nerd Poker has hundreds of thousands of fans, and it's where I have crafted comedic fantasy worlds and portrayed the voices of dozens of characters. We have performed in studio, live at the Largo theater, and at official Dungeons and Dragons conventions.I have been a staff writer and social media producer for multiple television shows at Comedy Central and AMC. I have also scripted material for Netflix, eLearning companies, universities, and a variety of free-lance clients. You need a script with a good joke and/or story? I'm your guy.And oh yeah, my stand-up comedy has led to best-selling albums and television appearances. You may have seen me on NBC, TBS, Comedy Central, Amazon Prime, or perhaps even heard me on NPR.

Listed skills include Comedy, Social Media, Blogging, Creative Writing, and 19 others.
