Star Stone Quarries has been an integral part of my education and training in management and operations. It has provided ample opportunities to gain experience in hiring, managing, and working with employees. I refer to my position here as Chief Problem Solver, however I try to always focus my efforts on training employees in mining practices and systems. Whenever there is a broke down machine or tool I make sure not to just fix it but instead have the employee who most often uses it help to fix it. In this way I can continually increase the competency of my crew and prevent future problems. As a result of this, I have gained a fair amount of mechanic/electrical problem solving skills. Its not uncommon that I come home drenched in any/all of three things: Rain, Diesel, and Hydraulic Oil.My goals include developing an experienced crew with systematized processes, able to handle everyday operations and to train myself out of a job and only engage in activities which have compounding and effective results.
