At the end of my first day working in a recording studio the owner told me "being an engineer is 80% people skills and 20% your engineering skills". This was one of most important lessons I learned in my career and that I still carry with me everyday. After a certain point, every engineer can setup a microphone, use Pro Tools, and edit audio, but not every engineer can connect with people in the same way. In my 12 years working as an audio engineer I have been a therapist, a life coach, a comedian, and above all a friend. I want to make great audio products, but I also want to make great connections with the people behind them. There is a human element that is often removed from the audio profession and it is my mission to revive that. Audio is deeply connected to the person creating it whether it be a podcast, a song, or even a commercial. The artist puts themselves into the content and I strive to respect that. Like many other engineers I got into working in audio by way of being a musician. This has become a crucial background to have when working with artists who need to communicate in the same language. From understanding where they are coming from, I can guide them to where they want to go. I treat each project as if it was my own. This mentality has provided me the opportunity to engineer, edit, and mix over 80 singles, albums, and more. I have toured with national artists as a FOH engineer, worked as an Adjunct Instructor, and am currently a Remote Instructor teaching Digital Audio Production at The Last Mile.
