I was tasked with establishing and stabilising, a high performing purchase operations centre, for indirect purchasing within Rolls-Royce. My main achievements were;Being shortlisted for the Young Purchasing Professional of the Year award in the CIPS Supply Management AwardsHiring and formalising a team of 8, taking responsibility for 92% of purchase requisitions within the department and ensuring they are consistently purchased in line with strict processes and strategic guidance.Improving the turn around time of purchase requisition to purchase order from an average of 14 working days prior to set up to a consistent performance of below 7 working days within 6 months.Reducing the number of purchase requisition arrears from 270+ at start up to a departmental lowest ever of 8 and consistently keeping them below 15.Through the above, enabling the wider department to be able to have more strategic long term discussions both internally and externally with the confidence they will be supported by excellent operational performance.Fully accountable for 8 employees including performance reviews, individual development plans and ensuring clear progression and promotion opportunities.

Following my graduate scheme I was approached to continue within the Marine sector of Rolls-Royce, becoming the first ever category manager for the purchasing of labour and engineering services. My main achievements in this role were:Using best-practice category management techniques developed the first purchasing category strategy for labour procurement, within Rolls-Royce Marine.Identified and implemented various labour and resourcing improvement initiatives, helping to cut costs whilst increasing engineering capacity.Played a key role in delivering low cost outsource solutions in both Engineering and HR.Negotiated and Implemented cross country supply agreements, with two multi-national labour providers, worth in excess of £1.5 Million each.

Created and implemented a capacity planning tool that enabled improvements forecasting and planning, further developing process mapping and process improvement skills.
