Non-profit organization that began in 2012 through a collection of social entrepreneurs working towards holistic community development in targeted low-income neighborhoods of Greenville, South Carolina. Launched Mill Village Farms (www.millvillagefarms.org) where we grow food through a collection of farms (community gardens, indoor warehouse farm, and rural farms) while employing and training over 50 at-risk teenagers every year. In 2013, Mill Village Farms launched a variety of initiatives to provide access to fresh & local produce in low-income, “food-desert” communities where there is little-to-no access to healthy & affordable food options. Secondly, we operate Village Launch (www.villagelaunch.org) that provides business training services for grass-root, minority entrepreneurs. Village Launch and Mill Community Ministries recently launched Textile Hall (www.textilehall.com), a co-work and business incubator in West Greenville for over 25 small businesses. Lastly, we operate Village Wrench (www.villagewrench.org), a community run bike workshop that offers free bike repair as well as bike earning and learning opportunities for community members.
