Over the years I have been involved in business networking groups that have shown me the value of connecting with other businesses. Some businesses have been what I considered my competition but even those I have found to be a source of business through referrals. There are certain businesses that I like to connect with more than others but I always leave myself open-minded to the value each one can provide.One action I enjoy spending time doing is one-to-ones. I heard a speaker years ago state that everyone is going to take a coffee break of some sort so I came up with Coffee or Tea With Me which let's us determine a 10-15 minute block of time sometime during the day to get to know each others business better and find out how we can help each other with referrals. What if we had a few key people that we did business with, such as, a mechanic, contractor, plumber, etc and when we have our coffee break you one of us mentions we are needed one of those and the other person is able to refer a business that they trust and does good work. You don't need to join a business networking group but you could do the same thing by referring. Here's a few that I would like to connect with.
