Originally from a small town in Ontario, Canada, Dan Wilby traded in his hockey stick for a camera and never looked back. His formal education earned him an art degree in photography, where he began his career in Toronto.It didn't take long before Dan moved to New York City, where he photographed advertising assignments and won several awards ( including Clio, Addy and One Show) for his work. Though based in NYC, his assignments have taken him all over the world. He finds himself as comfortable working in the studio as he is in any remote location.Dan uses light and his intuition to render subjects in a unique way. Whether photographing personalities, objects, or even spaces and places, he uses his work to celebrate a subject and make us take a closer look at what is presumed to be ordinary.On set Dan is easygoing and likes to foster a relaxed, professional working environment.
