CurrentAfter joining Safe-Com as a brand-new startup, architected and developed an integrated firmware suite for real-time monitoring and control of modular, distributed antenna systems and battery backup devices, spanning multiple product offerings that connect to build bespoke system installations.- Successfully designed and architected a hot-swappable, pluggable backplane system, enabling easy customization and expandability to adapt to customers’ needs.- Designed and implemented a custom wireless point-to-point networking stack and protocol, enabling systems to report and communicate across large-scale installations.- Developed bare-metal firmware for several 8- and 32-bit microprocessor architectures.- Created PC-based front-end user interface, providing customers with an elegant dashboard for configuration and monitoring of hardware systems.- Provided invaluable guidance during hardware design, integrating knowledge of microprocessor architecture and resources into overall digital circuit design.- Tested and debugged hardware prototypes, using digital logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other engineering lab equipment.- Assisted in ensuring regulatory compliance for devices, including UL, FCC, NFPA, and NEMA.
