The architecture consisted of a JavaScript UI driven by XML/XSLT, an ASP/COM+ middle tier and Microsoft SQL Server. • Designed and developed a reusable JavaScript framework used across the organization for developing web-based applications. The framework consisted of an XML messaging scheme for client/server communications, this eventually evolved to use SOAP.• Designed and developed a security and system administration service that used for all Thomson applications. This incorporated Windows 2000 Active Directory features with our own authorization scheme.

This allowed users to search the Microsoft Exchange Global Address List from a web page on the Cahners Intranet as well as modify their own listing. • Set up development standards and best practices for Intranet maintenance. Developed enhanced search capabilities using Microsoft Index Server and ASP. • Designed and developed an in-house personalization scheme using Visual Basic, VBScript, ADSI and ADO.
