Fall 2017: Magic Bullets and Miracle Pills (STS-UY 3904/A), Department of Technology, Culture, and Society. The class introduces engineering undergraduate students to important principles and historical cases from history, sociology, and anthropology of medicine.

The Brooklyn Institute for Social Research is a Brooklyn-based non-profit providing humanities and social science education and events to the public. My role at the Institute includes:- Leading the OnSite corporate education program- Hosting quarterly community and faculty networking events- Teaching courses for working adults in New York City- Conducting independent scholarly researchCourses taught cover areas like philosophy of technology, anthropology and ethnography, history of medicine, social theory, and feminist theory.

Intrommune Therapeutics is a specialty biopharmaceutical company located in New York, NY. Intrommune is developing a revolutionary new treatment platform for food allergies that is safe, effective and convenient. Intrommune’s first product is a therapy for patients who suffer fro​m peanut allergy.

Allovate is a New York City-based biopharmaceutical start-up dedicated to improving treatments for allergic diseases.- Engaged allergy & immunology thought leaders to build support for oral mucosal immunotherapy (OMIT) technology platform.- Led branding and messaging initiatives.- Developed company strategy and pursued business development opportunities.

Immunovent is a New York City-based biopharmaceutical start-up dedicated to improving allergy diagnostics.- Connect commercial and scientific divisions of the company. - Design and execute communication strategy concerning company identity and research and development.- Develop collaborations with industry and academic research partners.

Implosion Labs, LLC is an ethnographic research company specializing in user and strategy research for the technology and health care sectors. Led by Dr. Danya Glabau, an anthropologist specializing in studies of science, technology, and medicine, Implosion Labs provides insights on users, product design, and speculative futures based on a deep understanding of how context, culture, and social life influence consumer needs and desires.

- Planned and carried out qualitative research on food allergies in the United States.- Coordinated resources to support research.- Implemented qualitative social science methods, including in-depth interviewing, ethnography, participant observation, etc.- Analyzed large amounts of data to generate original insights about healthcare in the United States.
