As a Principal at Monona Grove School District and an Ad Hoc DEI Board Member for the Village of Cottage Grove, I have over three years of experience in strategic planning, administration, distributed leadership, and visionary implementation. I am passionate about creating and cultivating an environment that derives from a strong framework of race, equity, and inclusion, and that fosters a sense of belonging for all stakeholders.With a PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, I have a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the education sector, especially regarding unconscious bias, microaggressions, counter-narratives, difficult conversations, workplace bullying and harassment, organizational systems and structures, and workplace diversity and retention. I have demonstrated success in applying equitable practices in HR, reviewing hiring and retention protocols, and attracting highly qualified personnel of color. My mission is to transform education with DEI and belonging as the guiding principles and values.
