  I began my career as a translator and was immediately drawn to the legal field. Early on, I became responsible for legal translations and for reviewing all of IBM Canada's contracts. I also acted as Project Manager for Point of Sale Terminal translations with the responsibility, among others, of supervising translation of all required material in order to assist Walmart in setting up their business in the Province of Québec. Subsequently, I worked on various projects as translator, reviewer and National Language Verification (NLV) tester. I had the opportunity to manage a major localization project for UPS where I delivered both Canadian-French and European French versions of their web site.In recent years, I acted as Lead Project Manager for legal translation for IBM Canada and was responsible for selecting adequate translation resources, doing quality control and working closely with IBM's legal counsel to ensure adequacy of Canadian-French documents.I was also the focal point for local marketing translation requests and worked with marketing teams on delivering translated material for bids and requests for proposals for major clients and government entities. In addition, I was in charge of the Vendor Quality Control Program whereby I reviewed work performed by translation vendors to ensure conformity with IBM's standards.One of my last roles was that of Global Project Manager for multilingual marketing and technical video translations where I worked with a development team in Montreal to produce videos in more than 15 different languages and was in charge of managing the translation budget for the project on behalf of the stakeholders.
