About Dan Yore
Our global community is confronted with a series of socioeconomic, ecological, and geopolitical challenges of increasing scale, ambiguity, and interdependence. This is hampered by a growing chasm between policy decision-making and community action. In response, I have explicitly established a systems skillset that specialises in leading policy development and translation for transformational community-level impact. I have actively sought to work across diverse fields that span the policy development process including:• genuine community engagement, partnership, and co-creation in community development; • strategy and management of advocacy campaigns; • political participation at the state/territory, national, and international levels; and, • policy formulation and implementation. I am uniquely positioned to develop innovative solutions to complex, interconnected policy challenges by leveraging my highly unique transdisciplinary expertise in medicine, education, social determinants of health, and public administration. This systems-thinking approach encapsulates my deep desire to contribute to a world in which everyone and everything has a chance to flourish. This dedication has enabled me to strategically and successfully transition my work with communities, middle-management, and senior leaders in addressing health, education, climate, and sustainability challenges. For the last decade, this has taken me to Australia's Northern Territory, where I have worked as an award-winning leader overseeing a number of high-performing teams that have delivered transformative community and system change, particularly in the education sector. As a Commonwealth Scholar, I recently studied under world-renowned heterodox economist Mariana Mazzucato at UCL's Institute for Innovation & Public Purpose, where she specialised in new economic thinking, creative bureaucracy, complexity systems, and design.
