Prepare proposals and recommendations, and establish processes to ensure the currency of information included in the SIPS information system.• Implement information strategies associated with developing SIPS models and Tools. Provide input into associated planning systems.• Work with stakeholders to formulate policies and standards for spatial and non-spatial database creation, maintenance, application software control (including Geographic Information Systems), naming conventions and methodologies for quality assurance.• Provide specialist advice on associated software and associated tools to support the future strategic directions for database management within the Branch.• Undertake complex project initiatives and tasks, including the delivery of information technology specific to the SIPS project outputs. • Assist in the interface and negotiations between external agency information providers, business units and data custodians. Conduct research and the analysis of information technology options to assist divisional objectives within the approved Departmental Information and Communications Technology strategic framework. • Undertake other projects and tasks as requested.
