My teams were responsible for a suite of products and services that allowed engineering teams (5000+ engineers) to scale by building new products quickly. The largest pieces were two internal IDEs at Bloomberg, each of which targeted a distinct Javascript runtime that powered the two UI platforms used at Bloomberg. Created a multi year roadmap to decouple our systems and modernize the tooling by building a CLI that could be plugged into any modern IDE. Evangelized and successfully proposed a shift to VS Code as the preferred IDE. Built and grew two new teams - the first to focus on the CLI and the other to build a best in class WYSIWYG GUI builder and steered them to successfully deliver on the vision.

Managed a global organization of 50+ engineers, PMs and QA (7 teams) across NYC, London and Bangkok responsible for Eikon Messenger. Teams included frontend (desktop, mobile and web), backend, compliance services and directory services. Reduced the footprint of the legacy infrastructure by reverse engineering, rearchitecting and rewriting major components in Go. Saved $XMM by moving to a cost-effective data-center. Improved backend capacity and performance while still delivering features for clients. Stabilized the platform by changing how the team ran tests and managed deployments. Added telemetry across the systems so the team could make data driven decisions.

Led a cross-functional team to build a new product Eikon People Directory. We built a robust graph of people data, leveraging multiple sources of data spanning several terabytes. This innovative product not only aggregated vast amounts of information from internal and external sources but also incorporated valuable insights into individuals' connections.

Benchmark Solutions (acquired by Bloomberg) was a financial services technology startup providing fixed income and derivative markets with real-time market-driven pricing for US corporate bonds and CDS.Managed teams of software-engineers (2x7) and quantitative developers (1x8) to produce a pricing model, real-time pricing feeds and historical feeds.

Joined the startup in the early stages. Led a small team to architect and build from the ground up a high-performing and accurate market quote discovery system processing 130 million unstructured emails every day. Created search, data visualization and other tools to improve the system.Built a distributed computing framework to apply pricing models to historic data. This was a custom framework built with fault tolerance and an alerting mechanism. The computing job ran on 240 cores and took 48 hours to complete.

Highlights include:- Early engineer on the Bloomberg platform (UI+Runtime) which still powers all of Bloomberg's applications.- Part of the original team and became tech lead for Instant Bloomberg - the leading chat tool used by the global financial community. Was involved in all aspects, frontend, backend and compliance.- Built Squawk - a VOIP product which allowed trade desks to communicate with each other over Bloomberg's dedicated network circuits.- Succesfully led a large engineering effort to rewrite 20 year old Bloomberg's Mortgage cashflow engine (used to price Mortgage backed securities) in reponse to the mortgage crisis.- Was selected as one of three technologists for the newly appointed CTO office. Our mandate was to envision and build the next-gen Bloomberg terminal - one that used modern UI and UX standards.
