Our company, Zelano International, runs several projects including ZConnect: a social impact outsourcing company that connects professionals in Latin America to jobs in the United States. Our farm in the Amazon uses the cultivation of yellow dragon fruit to provide consistent jobs for people far from the central market. And our team at Kovê International works with community leaders in underserved populations in Ecuador through construction projects, medical trainings, dental care clinics, immigrant services, and educational scholarships. My roles include talent acquisition and development; the formation of the organization structure; development and positioning of the brands; creation of the company culture, systems and processes; project and team management; social impact programs; facilitation of cross-cultural communication; English and skills education in the workplace; and participation in strategic initiatives to expand the organizations in Latin America.I am passionate about the empowering effects of education of all forms, especially language and skills training, and its ability to open doors and access resources. I have been teaching personal/professional development, English, and business concepts in a multilingual setting in various capacities for over 2 decades in our companies in Ecuador, a bilingual IB school in Costa Rica, South Korean academies, international English institutes in the USA, a manufacturing facility in Tijuana, Mexico, and now a university in Quito.I hold a master’s degree in International Relations from the University of San Diego where I specialized in economic development in Latin America. My education, business experience and non-profit management gives me the unique ability to collaborate amongst various sectors to find innovative ways to expand markets while making a positive impact. I have seen how businesses can fuel self-sufficiency and make substantial progress on the challenges of our time. I love to connect community leaders, businesses, government entities and academic institutions to bring innovative solutions to age-old issues such as irregular immigration and persistent poverty.– Bilingual: Spanish (working proficiency)/ English (native)– Microsoft Teams, Asana, Monday.com, Google Workspace, HubSpot, Canva, Wix, and some ai tools.
