As a student ambassador, being a part of a diverse team for almost two years I have thoroughly enjoyed my time encouraging prospective high school students to consider pursuing tertiary education. Within my role, having a Pacific Islander background I was able to attend nights like QUT Pasifika Night where delegated Northside schools performed on campus in from of their families and friends. My passion to work with Maori and Pacific Islanders (MPI) came from this opportunity and being able to combine it together with my chosen field of study (Health) I have been able to do what I love! Roles include:- Role model to prospective primary and high school students as well as the general public with attendance at schools, community events and QUT Open Day to provide more information regarding courses - Creating and delivering student presentations reflecting on my personal journey towards tertiary education - Able to provide current and valid information to current and incoming students regarding course work or campus information - Assisting in running MPI workshops with students at schools

Requirements for Accredited Exercise Science include:* Screening and risk assessments prior to prescribed exercise - reviewing referrals, medical histories (diseases, injuries and disabilities)* Client assessment prior to exercise prescription / assessing the effectiveness of an exercise intervention - assess exercise and functional capacities, psychosocial status relating to lifestyle changes and maintenance * Planning exercise interventions (undertaken with client) - goal setting (long and short-term), identifying barriers and providing alternative solutions, designing exercise interventions and motivational interviewing * Delivering exercise interventions (including exercise prescription) - ability to coach and teach correct technique, assist clients with self-management and maintenance of exercise interventions such as the retention of clients and adherence to exercise
