Sr. Environmental Compliance Engineer
Current⬥ Lead project to implement new regulations and communicate with internal (with EE, ME, PM, Marketing…etc.) and external (ODMs and tier 1 suppliers) stakeholders.⬥ Drive execution of component phase-out programs: to identify substances that should be removed due to their hazardous properties and investigate safer alternatives.⬥ Product recycling management (EPR related), including WEEE, Packaging, and Battery. Maintain reporting, agreements, purchase orders, budgets and registration obligations with recyclers and regulating authorities. ⬥ Collect product characteristics data applicable to batteries and packaging reporting requirements, such as weights, dimensions, and chemistry.⬥ Respond to customer, 3rd party regulating authorities’ questions and government agency audits.⬥Regularly study, analyse, and update worldwide restricted substance requirements to ensure no impacts on the product roadmap.(e.g., RoHS, REACH, WEEE, Battery, Conflict Mineral, Prop 65, EPEAT, TCO, carbon footprint, etc.) and perform supplier audits to ensure requirements are complied with and followed. ⬥ Using Bill of Material (BOM), Product Life-cycle Management (PLM) tool for product data reviewing (e.g. global environmental marking and labelling requirements)⬥ Manage sustainability data (GHG emission, Human Trafficking and Slavery, conflict mineral...etc) submittal from facilities and key suppliers, respond to customer surveys and generate sustainability report.
