Passionate L(Y)OT was founded in March 2014 and registered with ACRA on 6/6/2014. L(Y)OT means Leaders (Youths) Of Today. As the saying that goes, “Tomorrow never comes”, Passionate L(Y)OT desires to seek the opportunities of Today; seizing the moment. Passionate L(Y)OT is a youth character and leadership development organization committed in building young leaders in Singapore from all walks of life.Passionate L(Y)OT empowers children and youths through delivering dynamic and experiential forms of training programs. Each program is customized to fit the needs and learning profile of the students. With positive learning as a valued objective, trainers conduct workshops at a level that connects with and engages the students, and deliver materials through highly interactive and experiential means.

Student Advisory Centre (SAC) is a children and youth charity established on the 1st of July 2003. SAC first started as a helpline for runaway minors and quickly expanded to include programmes to help children from low-income families as well as academically challenged students.Today, the centre focuses on five key principles to reach out to disadvantaged young people in Singapore:1. To help students with low interest in studies and inability to study effectively realise their potential.2. To help students with delinquent behaviours correct their actions and mindset.3. To help students with low self-esteem gain confidence.4. To help potential school dropouts stay in school .5. To provide free meals to students from financially disadvantaged families.

Youth workers specialise in work with young people aged between 11 and 25, particularly those aged between 13 and 19, to:• promote their personal and social development• enable them to have a voice, influence and place in their communities and society as a whole.• provide enjoyable, educational and challenging activities to help them improve their confidence• develop new skills and cope with issues that affect their lives.Youth Worker’s day-to-day tasks would depend on the needs of our clients, but might include:• organising sports, arts, drama, and other activities• mentoring and supporting young people• offering counselling• working with specific groups, such as young carers or those at risk of offending• developing and running projects that tackle issues like health, bullying, crime or drugs• managing volunteers and part-time workers• keeping records and controlling budgets• bidding for grants and funding• networking with other professionals including social workers, teachers, probation officers and the police.• You might also do outreach work as a 'detached' youth worker, engaging with young people in meeting places like parks, shopping centres and on the streets.Our programmes are strongly centered around Restorative Practices and Solution-Focused practices. With it, we hope to not only impart these practices to our students and participants, but also to the teachers and school management in creating a safe, conducive environment for all.
