Public Affairs | Division Manager
CurrentAs the Public Affairs Manager, I provide strategic counsel to the City Commission and City Manager in the development of the city’s legislative agenda at both the state and federal levels. I ensure that the City Manager is consistently informed of critical trends, events, initiatives, and emerging issues in economic development that are pivotal to the city’s continued success. In this capacity, I advocate for the City Commission’s legislative priorities by engaging with state and federal legislators, agencies, and the broader community. These communications are essential to fostering strong, collaborative relationships between the city and both the Executive and Legislative branches of government. Additionally, I offer guidance to city officials and stakeholders on best practices in economic development and diversification, while emphasizing the importance of social and environmental sustainability as cornerstones of our local economy.Recognizing the potential inequities that can arise in rapidly growing cities, I lead efforts to research, develop, and implement equity-driven economic development strategies. Together with key staff, I devise and execute comprehensive plans to support global investment and marketing strategies, while securing the necessary resources for their successful implementation and oversight.Lastly, I manage the City’s Sister City program, orchestrating official meetings, travel, and events for international delegations, including General Consulates, Embassy Ambassadors, trade officials, and visiting dignitaries. This program plays a vital role in strengthening the city’s global ties and fostering international business relationships.
