As a member of the Credit/Accounts Receivable Department with Packaging Service Co., I am responsible for assisting in daily collections of past due accounts; monitoring accounts that have been placed on credit hold in the system for various reasons such as exceeding credit limit; past due invoices on their account; and/or deductions taken on invoices that are unresolved. Other responsibilities include conducting weekly meetings to analyze various issues on customer accounts such as EDI/billing issues to be resolved; unauthorized fines taken as deductions to be disputed; monitoring deductions to be applied to accruals for marketing promotions and other various other issues that can effect the DSO of accounts. Also responsible for reconciliations of large customer accounts to ensure accuracy of the automated cash application process and also ensure that all invoices are being properly billed through EDI provider, SPS Commerce.

 Daily responsibilities included processing all cash applications such as ACH, wire, and lockbox payments; processing trade deductions; establishing line of credit for customers and determining credit limits; working closely with the customer service dept. to ensure accurate set up of customer accounts in ERP system as well as ensuring accurate and prompt billing; and issuing unauthorized deduction denial notices to customers. Review aging report daily to remedy past due accounts to help reduce the DSO and increase cash collections to meet monthly targets.
