Current● Certified ESOL teacher● Develop math and science curriculum aligned with Common Core Standards and delivered in a dynamic, departmentalized setting● Expand the range of learning through a variety of teaching strategies: teacher modeling to provide a strong academic background in a whole group or small group setting, and small group rotations● Integrates technology into learning processes to enhance center activities/whole group instruction● Assess student performance utilizing tests, quizzes and exit tickets.● Analyze county and statewide testing data through Unity, an online platform● Participate in the SIT/IEP meetings to ensure students of diverse backgrounds and abilities receive the appropriate services which leads to academic excellence ● Tutor students in school sponsored after-school program that focuses on Math and Reading skills ● Collaborates with special education teacher to plan and co-teach math instruction ● Collaborates with ESOL teachers to meet the need of students focusing on non-speakers● Taught Reading and Social Studies Curriculum to students in fourth grade (2007-2008) ● Participates in vertical planning with 3rd and 5th grade math teachers● Facilitates weekly team meetings analyzing student data/work samples in math or reading● Serve as a member of the School Improvement Team ● Co-Chair Reading Committee (2009-2010) ● Participated in the University of Maryland Field experience for future educators (2011-2013)● Participates in the University of Maryland Terrapin Teacher Program (2016-present)
