As Chief Impact Officer, the focus of this role is the overall coordination, management, and direction of fundraising and development, public and private external partnerships, data, and communications, in support of the Say Yes Buffalo mission and team. Serving as the number two position in the organization, the Chief Impact Officer plays a critical role in moving the organization towards its long term vision of a more equitable and thriving Western New York economy in which all students will have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Responsible for the implementation of a comprehensive college success agenda for Buffalo students, funded by a $3M grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The college success agenda catalyzes Say Yes Buffalo’s existing efforts by expanding on what has worked to remove barriers to student achievement in the K-12 space, and mirrors those supports on college campuses. Additionally responsible for the creation of a modern youth apprenticeship system that provides access to livable wages for Buffalo students on non-traditional paths to economic equity and the overall coordination, management, and direction of the organization’s communications, public relations and marketing strategy.

Lead the development and implementation of a communications strategy to increase awareness and understanding of the Say Yes Buffalo initiatives, services and supports among key target audiences including: parents, students, teachers, administrators, community partners, business, government, donors and prospective donors.

Responsible for assisting in the execution of both the company’s communications/PR and associate relations strategic visions. Duties include writing/editing press material distributed to local and trade media outlets; efficiently managing crisis situations; creating official company statements; analyzing press coverage; developing and implementing associate communications to over 14,000 associates; maintaining internal communications and associate inclusion through the use of intranet and internet sites; managing associate events and campaigns.

Responsible for assuring remarkable customer service to all customers, while maintaining the day-to-day operation of the department. Duties included maintaining stock levels on designated items; controlling cash product shrink; hiring, training and scheduling of front-end personnel at store #222, Broadway and Bailey.

Responsible for processing the weekly payroll for all employees of Jefferson Ave. store, #250.
