Daphne Dixon works locally, regionally and nationally to solve problems that support the 17 Global Sustainable Development Goals. She leads multiple enterprises including Live Green Network, CT Southwestern Area Clean Cities Coalition, This Green Home, Better Than Normal, and the Coast-to-Coast EV Road Trip. She also works with LuftCar as their VP of Business Development.As Director of Connecticut SWA Clean Cities Coalition, designated by the U.S. Department of Energy's Vehicle Technologies Office, she leads a team that works strategically with a variety of fleets on transitioning to alternative fuels. Her coalition collaborates with federal agencies, fuel providers, industry associations, and equipment manufacturers. Daphne specializes in EV zoning regulations, electric school bus and electric police fleet adoption, working with disadvantaged and overburdened communities on transportation systems that support equity, workforce development, clean air and GHG reduction. Daphne works with businesses, municipalities, and community members on transportation programs. She has created Municipal EV Readiness Trainings, EV Zoning Regulations Workshop Series, Electric School Bus Workshops and Trainings, and Electric Police Vehicle Workshops. Over the course of 4 years, along with our navigator, Daphne will drive through all 48 contiguous states, on rural roads and scenic highways, in a non-Tesla EV to demonstrate the ability to successfully drive long distances. In the 2022 EV Road Trip, 4,973.8 miles were traveled in a Mustang Mach E, without trouble through 17 states, while completing 12 demonstration events. Data was collected along the way on both en route public and destination charging, as well as charging at the hotels and National Parks.This year, Daphne is traveling through 25 states and covering over 5,100 miles. Along the route, 30 demonstration events are planned, and municipalities will be surveyed on their Municipal EV Readiness and provided with resources.
