Purpose:• Member of Extended Country Senior Management Team (ESMT) and directly responsible for strategic development and effective and professional management of the Zambézia Provincial Program• Provided leadership, technical support and management to provincial program and support-function managers and staff (>60 people)• Oversaw provincial grants from USAID, PEPFAR, DFID, SIDA, ECHO and other donors, and budgets worth US$3 million/year • Represented Save the… Show more Purpose:• Member of Extended Country Senior Management Team (ESMT) and directly responsible for strategic development and effective and professional management of the Zambézia Provincial Program• Provided leadership, technical support and management to provincial program and support-function managers and staff (>60 people)• Oversaw provincial grants from USAID, PEPFAR, DFID, SIDA, ECHO and other donors, and budgets worth US$3 million/year • Represented Save the Children in province, influenced national program and policies, and furthered the organization’s national strategies Main achievements:• Ensured all aspects of program implementation at the provincial level, including monitoring and evaluation of project activities, monitoring and compliance of budgets and expenditures, managing support services, and donor reporting• Provided technical input and leadership in the areas of child participation, civil society engagement, community development and advocacy (to staff, partners, children’s groups, community leaders and other stakeholders)• Led systematic review and documentation of program results and impact with provincial team, beneficiaries and partners in order to design and/or refine organizational strategies, disseminate best practices and lessons-learned, and develop advocacy objectives• Led emergency (flood) responses at provincial level during two consecutive rainy seasons (2007 and 2008), which included representing Save the Children vis-à-vis government and partners and setting up systems of communications, coordination and logistics, while meeting critical deadlines for timely delivery of relief efforts Show less
