Working in the Family Advocacy Clinic at Fordham excited Daphney. She was responsible for researching and discovering answers to legal questions that would greatly impact clients. The legal issues of clients were quite personal and their cases were often grave and serious, so Daphney approached each case with great care. She conducted legal research and drafted memoranda on various issues including educational placement of disabled children in out of state facilities. She prepared exhibits and other supporting materials for hearings before the Department of Education’s Impartial Hearing Office. In many cases, Daphney also communicated with government agencies on the behalf of her clients regarding their rights and requested aid.

Daphney's experience interning at Mercedes-Benz USA, was quite interesting. She learned a great deal about trademark infringement. While handling lemon law claims was not particularly difficult, she found them to certainly be surprising and unpredictable. As an intern, Daphney drafted cease and desist letters regarding trademark infringement. She also compiled and analyzed marketing materials and other documents in response to discovery request.
