Led cross-team task force to re-engineer the automated turn-up of technical infrastructure in new data centers. Goal of effort was to eliminate external dependencies, break up dependency cycles, and make the process testable and repeatable. Process turned up 50+ services. Task force responsibilities included coordinating work with 50+ teams, developing technical solutions to key challenges, and establishing patterns and practices to allow the work to scale out many teams.Previously, managed SRV team, responsible for Babysitter and Omicron, low dependency job control systems for critical foundation services (time, lock service, network management). Worked with Borg team to develop low dependency capabilities to enable migration. Lead program to coordinate with teams and migrate workloads to Borg (20 services, 24k machines) and turndown Babysitter.

This API was used by large and small customers to integrate salesforce with internal systems, and by partners to build product extensions. Key innovations include custom customer WSDLs reflecting individual customizations, both strongly typed and weakly typed WSDL, 4 year backwards compatibility guarantee through versioned end points. Helped instigate the transition to Agile methodologies; Also helped raise the bar on the build and test process. These changes have helped maintain high developer productivity despite rapid growth and helped Salesforce.com to get to regular quarterly releases.
