Inner Hope’s mission is to walk alongside vulnerable youth and families in East Vancouver. We believe that together we can equip young people to live healthy lives and empower the next generation. We do this through mentoring relationships, life skills training, and the provision of stable housing. Burns Bog is a globally unique ecosystem in our backyard. It covers a space of over 8000 acres in Delta, British-Columbia. My responsibilities included:Program Coordination of “Bog Escape”:I coordinated the day to day tasks and affairs of a team of 4 staff who were hired through a Job Creation Partnership (JCP) between the Government of Canada and the Burns Bog Conservation Society. JCP’s provide meaningful work and training for EI eligible clients and I was responsible for ongoing training in leadership, event management, and customer service. I also helped manage the JCP budget, track JCP goals and create reports for partners, donors, board members, and case managers.“Bog Escape” was co-created by myself and 2 members of the leadership team. This very successful program saw over 1000 new guests visit Burns Bog in 2017. Fundraising and communications:I wrote and received several grants for the Burns Bog Conservation Society programs and events – including Bog Escape. I also created the majority of the Bog Escape communications materials including a website, rack card, and newspaper ads. Show less

Helped the veterinarian in his duties. This included giving vaccines, placing IVs, taking temperatures, giving medication, removing stitches and casts. Also monitored surgeries and monitored animals throughout the day.
