Dara Griffith is a graduate of Arizona State University, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Master’s in Business and Administration. She started her career working as an intern at a civil and agricultural engineering consulting firm. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree, she was promoted to staff engineer. In due course, she moved to the public sector, working on vertical and horizontal capital and public works projects for a municipality. In June 2018, she and her family moved to the Houston area, and she began working for Harris County, in the Harris County Engineering Department. She currently oversees capital projects and system maintenance in the Operations and Facilty Infrastructure Division for Harris County Toll Road Authority (HCTRA) She has nearly 20 years of experience managing budgets and goals including consultants and contractors. Her experience includes the development of executive level reports, manuals, and systems to manage departmental portfolios and staffing workloads, streamlining of internal processes and procedures, recruiting and hiring, resolving contract disputes, and strategizing with the Executive Management team. Additionally, she is a Professional Engineer, Project Management Professional, Envision Sustainability Professional, and Certified Floodplain Manager.
