Writer And Phd CandidateQueen'S University Belfast Sep 2023 - PresentBelfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom -
Project AssistantQueen'S University Belfast Apr 2021 - PresentBelfastAs a member of the Seamus Heaney Centre Project team, I perform many different roles across many different projects, collaborating closely with the Centre's Director and Coordinator. Currently, I host the Write Night Workshop, an important strand of the Centre's community work, connecting current writers of the centre to graduates and guests, and keeping their connection to the work alive. Through this, I've interviewed several notable authors, and worked with many writers who've gone on to publish across the island.Im the past, I've produced, directed and edited several episodes of the SHC podcast (including the MA Student Showcase podcast, where I collected and edited scripts and monologues from the students, directed the actors in their performances, and oversaw the final edit of the podcast). I was an editor on the centre's Blackbird publication of student work. I volunteer co-ordinated and ran events for the Lonely Passions Brian Moore festival with Paradosso Theatre. I created copy and promotional imagery for the Centre's marketing, and I've worked at several events, overseeing their smooth technical and practical running. I also run additional, outside of class writing workshops for our students, including workshops for an upcoming season of work. -
Community AssistantQueen'S University Belfast Apr 2021 - Jul 2022BelfastAs a Community Assistant in the Graduate School at Queen's, I keep in contact with students, responding to queries or issues they may have during their University experience, facilitate events for postgraduate students at the University and ensure the daily running and upkeep of the Graduate School facilities. -
Editor In ChiefThe Apiary Sep 2023 - PresentBelfast, Northern Ireland, United KingdomI have the privilege of editing Issues 6 and 7 of The Apiary, Queen's Literary Magazine. Under my tenure, I've secured funding from the Queen's Annual Fund, introduced Translations and a full critical section to the magazine, and increased our circulation. Most importantly, I've expanded our community reach, including new parts of the University while improving the consistency of the magazine's design and branding with our designer, Bryan Sim, and social media manager Anna Gordon.

Freelance CoordinatorFreelance Aug 2022 - PresentI've worked as a freelance culture worker in coordination, administration and project/event management roles, for multiple festivals across Belfast, utilising my coordination, administration and people-forward hospitality skills. I was Festival Administrator for the Belfast Book Festival, working with the Crescent Arts Centre to manage guest artist's travel and accommodation options before and during the festival, overseeing the running of, and invitations to, the FunFair, an open trade conference, and administering many other tasks, such as copyediting the programme. With the Belfast Film Festival, I helped oversee the Box Office, managing our online booking system (making sure the programme was active, accurate and open for sales), and interfacing with customers. I was also the day-to-day manager of the Vox Populi exhibition, an innovative display of archival works displayed in the historic Bank of Ireland building, derelict since 2005. With the NI Science Festival, I was a Lead Guardian on the Dreammachine project, managing small groups of Guardians, overseeing guest experience and the proper following of health and safety regulations and emergency response, essential to the Dreammachine technology.
