Profile bio

About Dara Oken , Med

✔ MY EXPERTISE:I design innovative, engaging learning experiences with an eye to detail guided by a clean design approach. I draw on my 15+ years of experience facilitating learning experiences for adult learners and developing curriculum based on goals with objectives and assessments aligned to achieve them. I have extensive direct experience applying adult learning theory to deliver evidence-based learning solutions.💡 HOW I DO THIS:I draw on various instructional design models at different stages of the ADDIE process. A focus on Action Mapping directs collaborative conversations with subject matter experts (SME) and sharpens the objectives, Gagne's Levels of Learning structure and scaffold the design process, Mayer's Principles guide the development, and Kirkpatrick's Levels of Evaluation take it full circle to measure how close we've come to the project goals. ✨ WHY I LOVE IT:I'm a visual thinker, a creative maker, and an educator through experience. The instructional design process flows in the way I think best: identifying patterns and distilling content down to the elemental nuggets. Whether it is with live learners and a facilitator or through distance delivery, my goal is to construct learning experiences for that synergy of "aha!" when learning actually happens.⛏ DEVELOPMENT TOOLS☑ Articulate Storyline☑ Vyond☑ Powtoons☑ Camtasia☑ Audacity☑ Canva☑ Microsoft Office☑ Google Suite
