Fulfilling all the functions of a busy national newsroom. Responsibilities include generation of story ideas, developing contacts, coverage of breaking events in the field (including the courts and the Oireachtas), interviewing news-makers, editing audio and writing concise, informative copy for the network’s hourly bulletin service. Once again, fulfilling the usual functions of a national newsroom. In addition to the network’s radio bulletins, I also worked as an online editor for INN’s Breaking News service - writing domestic, international & business stories for the company’s web clients, which included the Irish Independent and the Irish Examiner. Following the departure of the company’s sports editor in 2008, I fulfilled the functions of the job for a year. This included organising event coverage, managing the department’s budget and assigning reporters to markings and sports events.

Responsibilities included researching products, coming up with advertising concepts, and writing copy for various national radio and newspaper campaigns. Clients included Toyota, Lexus, Lacoste and the Irish Cancer Society.
