I'm a freelance Picture Editor with 15 years experience in the publishing industry and managing the picture team of a busy women’s celebrity weekly. I'm well versed at organising and directing photo shoots. Due to our weekly print deadlines and the demands for unique content, I frequently run multiple shoots at once. I'm very team orientated both in-house and when directing shoots. My skills include producing creative briefs for shoots and directing and organising a team to produce the best results. I have extensive experience in every last detail of producing great images: finding the right photographers worldwide, sourcing locations and suitable props, as well as organising catering. I create impeccable schedules so shoots run smoothly for everyone involved. I have worked with many photographers, stylists and hair and make-up professionals, and I'm able to find the right team for each brief. Every shoot is different and has its own challenges which is partly why I enjoy them so. I've worked with a huge range of subjects from celebrities to a wonderfully eccentric lady from San Francisco who married a lake.I'm experienced at negotiating fees and budgets, buying and selling images and negotiating contracts for online and offline use. I've managed content libraries and used some of the leading software on the market, defining teamwide workflows for gathering and distributing assets. My current role means I'm used to handling high volumes of content--sifting, organising and ensuring that editorial quality is maintained. I have a strong understanding of copyright and privacy issues and work with both in-house and third party legal teams regarding picture rights and usage.
