Moray East

Responsible for up ending tower sections and transporting them as the primary banksman to the load out for for the installation vessel.Installation of cameras to aid in heavy lifting of tower sections.Ensuring all activity on the crane pad is carried out safely and that team members are aware of all safety requirements.Operating heavy machinery on the crane pad ie,16t forklift, cherrypicker & telehandler.Ensuring all tools and equipment were prepared before each lift and ensuring all tools were accounted for on completion, always ensuring good housekeeping.Fitting splash buckets, dropping DC cables, adjusting bumpers and snowflakes, dry bags in cabinets when required.Carrying out bolt stretching with ITH equipment on all flanges in required stages, documenting for the client and MHI.Prepping mids and tops for upending.Removing trunnions from tower sections.Installing Avanti lift components, inspection and maintenance.Installing TID on top tower and ensuring correct settings were input before lifting.Involved in all heavy lifting of blade stacks, nacelles and tower sections from vessel to SPMT on the quay side.Involved in full tower lifts to quay side, ensuring all cables were disconnected, ladders removed and bolts loosened.Connecting lifting yolk in preparation for lifts.Mechanical completion.Daily EXIF completion.Carrying out walk downs on completion.Following all EHS requirements whilst on site.Supporting and improving team performance by sharing knowledge and best practices.

Northern Sweden

Carrying out maintenance and service tasks to the best standards possible on Europe's largest onshore wind farm in northern Sweden where temperatures would drop to below -20C. Day to day tasks would involve pitch motor exchanges.Changing of pitch batteries.Cleaning and replacing pitch brakes.Troubleshooting for oil & hydraulic leaks.Grease top ups throughout the nacelle.Replacing yaw contactors.Gearbox oil refilling.Inspecting yaw bolts and replacing if required.Gear box servicing.Following all EHS & LOTO procedures.Working under WTSR.Compiling daily reports for management.

Project: Merkur Offshore Windfarm

Preparing, coordinating and monitoring of all daily work permits according to HSE standards.Managing and updating of all risk assessments and method statements used for the permit to work request.Co-planning of offshore daily activities with planners, supervisors and site manager.Participating in conference calls with management onshore every morning to make sure we are all aligned and maintaining the progress needed to complete the project. Implementing and supporting effective working practices and systems as required to continuously improve product delivery. Project: Merkur Offshore Windfarm

Removing Nacelle caps to torque bolts, re-tightened pole shoe and recovered new locktite and caps whilst in rope access. Following Permits to Work, Risk Assessments and Tool Box Talks. Servicing, repairing, refueling generators and pulling cables within the turbine from TP to nacelle. Inspecting yoyo systems, steel grating before re-torquing, coolant hose and Avanti lift system checks and servicing. Installing lift deflector plates, filled in inspection reports and completed Punch List snagging works for QA/QI using photographic evidence to document. Operating in compliance with industry health and safety requirements. Familiar with the permit to work system and like to implement a good safety culture throughout site. Excellent communication skills at all levels while remaining dedicated to ensuring and understanding the company requirements and procedures. Completing all activities in a timely accurate and efficient manner in accordance with procedures and work instructions. Monitoring day to day activity and own quality levels.Supporting and improving team performance by sharing knowledge and best practices.

Project: Offshore Turbines Across The Uk, Germany And Denmark

Completing above water structural inspection works on offshore turbines.Working in confined spaces, used lifting and hoisting safety systems and followed Act-Safe as an Ørsted Competent Person. Using a Vernier caliper to measure/record settlement between transition piece and the foundation. Measuring water quality parameters including dissolved oxygen, conductivity temperature, pH levels and utilising a vertical metre to measure transition piece vertically. Promoting team involvement in all HSE activities, initiatives and programmes. Completing documentation including reports and quality reviews before co- ordination of re-work needed with client and contractors. Inspecting grout condition and measured/recorded cracks. Rigging and de-rigging evacuation equipment and supported the Top Man working in confined spaces, documented entry/exits and recorded gas readings.

Project: Forth Road Bridge

Utilising excellent rope access techniques to install suspended scaffold.Transferring platforms to and from barges as a Banksman Slinger. Assisting Scaffolders with constructing scaffold platforms and RMD components. Ensuring general good housekeeping to ensure a safe and clean working environment.

Safely operated crew transfer vessels (CTV) and monitored heavy lift operations. Maintaining excellent relationships with colleagues at all levels to facilitate Managing the safe transfer to/from the Offshore turbine instillation. Following Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS) as well as identified, isolated and eliminated safety hazards. Maintaining safety equipment on board as well as the vessels engines.

Africa / Middle East

Client representation whilst operating in a supervisory role with the responsibility of a team of 4 tasked to provide anti-terrorism and anti-piracy protection to Merchant Vessels on transits through the Gulf of Oman, Arabian Sea, Gulf of Aden, Red Sea and the Niger Delta regions. (High Risk) Aligning activities to BMP 4 and IMO regulations. Reviewing and producing DPRs for all tasks. Meeting with client representatives to ensure all steps were in place for safe passage of cargo and crew.

Successfully completed the 32 - week Commando training course at the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines in Devon. This physically and mentally demanding course instilled in me a high standard of personal organisation and self - discipline. It also further developed my self - confidence and built an ethos of teamwork combined with a high level of responsibility and good citizenship.Deployed on numerous exercises and Operations around the world whilst working effectively alongside a plethora of other agencies. Developed a high level of leadership and interpersonal skills.
