Working alongside Dr. Jaishankar, I was actively engaged in the extraction, isolation, and quantification of phytochemical compounds present in the plant.This hands-on experience allowed me to harness cutting-edge techniques to uncover a diverse spectrum of bioactive constituents. I explored the intricate profiles of these compounds, paving the way for a deeper understanding of their potential health benefits.One of the most fascinating aspects of the project was assessing the antioxidant activities of these compounds. During my enriching internship at ICAR-CIARI, under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Arun Kumar De, I embarked on a captivating journey of scientific exploration and hands-on learning. As part of the Amplification and Sequence Characterization of Mitochondrial Markers of Indigenous Goats of Andaman and Nicobar Islands project, I delved into the intricate world of genetic diversity and molecular analysis.Working closely with Dr. Arun Kumar De and his dedicated team, I gained valuable insights into mitochondrial markers and their significance in unraveling the genetic makeup of indigenous goat populations. Through meticulous amplification techniques and sequence characterization, I contributed to advancing our understanding of the unique genetic heritage of these precious animals.In addition to my primary project, I had the privilege of immersing myself in diverse areas of biotechnology. I honed my skills in Mushroom Cultivation, expanding my knowledge of sustainable agriculture practices. Moreover, I gained proficiency in HA Titre and ELISA, essential techniques in immunology and disease diagnostics.This internship not only fueled my passion for genetic research and biotechnology but also provided me with a holistic view of interdisciplinary scientific endeavors.
