As the Quality Assurance Manager, I am responsible for assuring all requirements are met for the nuclear program, NQA-1, 10CFR50 Appendix B, and any requirements for Section II, III, V, VIII, IX, and XI are adhered to. Performing as the lead auditor on audits of outside vendors and internal audits. Maintaining records for welders, calibrated equipment, employee qualifications, NCR's, and CA's. Act as the liaison between the customers and SPK concerning quality issues.

Superior Forge and Steel, is a roll manufacturer for the metals industry with facilities in Lima, Ohio, Newcastle, PA, and Pittsburgh, PA. As the Quality Inspector, I am responsible for measuring the rolls to ensure they are made to the strict parameters specified in the blueprints. Using scales of various lengths to measure lengths of key fits on the rolls, various sizes of micrometers to measure the diameters of each fit on the rolls, and using different types of NDT testing methods to check hardness, roughness, and other defects that can be present. Create deviations for areas that are not conforming to parameters.

Was a Process Technician in the RollShop. Participated in the installation of 1 new grinder and commissioned 2 grinders in the shop. Helped generate the SOP's for the rollshop area. Operated CNC cylindrical roll grinder, grinding to tolerances of .002" while putting a profile onto the roll. Used remote overhead crane to load and unload the grinder, was also required to drive forklifts to dump swarf bins and also deliver rolls for the Skin Pass mill via trailer. Part of the job duties included preventative and predictive maintenance on the grinder. Dechocking and chocking of the bearing assembly onto the rolls. Other responsiblilities uncluded checking the rolls for defects using NDT testing methods including Dye Penetrant, Ultrasound (straight and angle beam), Hardness testing using the Leeb method, and surface roughness. Aslo operated a Pangborn shotblaster for texturing the rolls to the SkinPass mill. Was also involved in the panel interviews for Steelscape, also was a member of the Safety committee.
