I am a highly motivated Social Services Worker with comprehensive knowledge of social justice issues and systems affecting marginalized communities. Passionate about developing and facilitating programs to support communities in need. Collaborative and analytical advocate builds strategic partnerships, advocate for clients and advance change for communities in need.I am currently employed at the Ministry of Social Development and Family Services. For the past three years, I worked as a Family Service Social Worker with the National Family Services Division. My previous work experience includes, social service delivery as a Children's Services Associate with the Children's Authority of Trinidad & Tobago and a Liaison Officer with the Ministry of Social Development and Family Services.In 2018, I founded a Non-Governmental Organization - Children of the Promise Foundation (CPF). CPF has a mission of creating safe spaces for at-risk children and youth to learn, play and grow. CPF's goal is to ensure that our stakeholders receive support, guidance and coaching that will promote healthy and holistic development. CPF's motto 'Each One Can Reach One', reflects our understanding that positive and influential individuals have a critical role to play in ensuring the safety and growth of our children and by extension our communities. The old adage, it takes a village to raise a child further compounds our motto.Through our Homework and Recreational Center, at-risk children and youth receive assistance with their homework and other academic pursuits. Participants are also engaged in drama, arts, recreational and sporting activities that nurture a balanced and active lifestyle, while simultaneously providing them with positive mentors and role models.
